Persistent inflammation of the eye conjunctiva causing redness and irritation
For an active condition rated on incapacitating episodes, the most direct evidence is records showing dated clinic visits where you received treatment specifically for your conjunctivitis within the past 12 months. The regulation lists examples of qualifying treatment: systemic immunosuppressants or biologic agents, intravitreal or periocular injections, laser treatments, and other surgical interventions. Appointment records, treatment notes, and prescription histories that document what was done and why can all help establish the number of qualifying visits.
If your condition is rated on visual impairment instead, eye examination findings that measure your visual acuity or field loss become the key evidence. For an inactive condition, records showing residual effects — such as lasting visual changes or scarring that causes disfigurement — are what matter most. Your own statements, and statements from people who know you, describing how symptoms affect your daily activities and work can also support the record at any stage.
