FAQ

The following are frequently asked questions about TurboVets

Is TurboVets really free?

Yes. TurboVets is completely free for veterans.

There are no fees, subscriptions, or hidden costs.

Why is it free? What’s the catch?

There is no catch.

We believe veterans should not have to pay for benefits, support, or services they’ve earned. The country has many free services to help with benefits, and we’re looking to bring it all together in a unified platform for our country. Yes, TurboVets is a for-profit company, but this platform is part of our mission to serve veterans. We fund it through:

  • Partnerships with large organizations aligned to the mission, donating time and services for hosting and mission-related activities.
  • Other products and services we sell and operate outside the veteran platform, with DOW and other government partners; this is our giving back to the mission and community. Built by Veterans, for Veterans, always mission first.
Do you sell or share my data?

No.

We do not sell, share, or monetize veteran data- period.

Your information is:

  • Used only to support your experience on the platform.
  • Protected and handled with strict security standards.
  • Never provided by TurboVets to third parties without the direct action and/or authorization of the user.
  • You may delete your data at any time; it's your data.
If TurboVets is free, how do you make money if you’re a for-profit company?

TurboVets is a for-profit company, but we are intentional about how we generate revenue. Our investors are some of the biggest names in the veteran community, including billionaires, mavericks, and national leaders. We’ve always put “Mission First” over making money, and it's afforded us the support and opportunity to make TurboVets free and to create impact for the community.

We do not make money from veterans or their data. Nor will we monetize veteran data, and we will never sell or share veteran data.

Instead, we sustain the platform through:

  • Other products and services we operate outside of the veteran platform.
  • Enterprise and government-aligned solutions that support broader system modernization.
  • Strategic partnerships with large organizations that align with our mission.

This model allows us to separate revenue from veteran support, ensuring that:

  • Veterans receive our product for free.
  • No data is sold or shared.
How is this possible long-term?

We’ve designed TurboVets to be mission-funded, not veteran-funded.

  • Our partnerships help expand access while keeping services free.
  • Our broader business operations cover the cost of the platform.
  • Our focus is on scale and impact, not extracting value from veterans.
Why take this approach?

Because veterans have already earned these services.

We believe:

  • Access to benefits and support should be free and simple.
  • The system should serve veterans- not charge them.
  • Trust is built by what you don’t do (no fees, no data sales, no exploitation).

Bottom line

TurboVets makes money- but not from veterans or their data.

That’s what allows us to deliver a platform that is: Free. Protected. Veteran-first.

Do you store my data for commercial purposes?

No. We do not store or use veteran data for any commercial gain whatsoever. Our sole purpose is to help you access and manage your benefits and services, to include non-profit partners and other important veteran missions- nothing more.

Do you allow paid or “pay-to-play” services on the platform?

No. We do not allow predatory or pay-for-service providers on TurboVets. TurboVets believes access to veteran benefits should be free, simple, and enable awareness and access to ALL available benefits.  Therefore, any partner or VSO that we work with will only be accredited organizations that do not charge veterans.

Every partner and service we offer is:

  • Vetted for alignment with our mission.
  • Required to support veterans without charging them.
  • Held to strict standards of integrity and transparency.
Who is TurboVets built for?

TurboVets is built for:

  • Veterans and their family members
  • County Veteran Service Officers
  • VA Accredited Agents
  • National Veteran Service Organizations
  • State Veteran Organizations

Our goal is to provide a single, unified system to support your journey- from claims to long-term management.

When will the initial product launch?

TurboVets is being rolled out in phases, starting in May 2026  with initial capabilities launching around disabilities application, management, connection and assistance with VSO’s, and expanding rapidly after release.

Our approach is to deploy early, deliver value immediately, and continuously improve based on real user needs.

What features and capabilities will be available at launch?

At launch, TurboVets will provide core capabilities focused on immediate impact and ease of use, including:

  • Guided access to benefits and claims support with live human interactions with VSO and VA accredited claims experts.
  • Centralized view of your status and progress, including use of AI to help with understanding your benefits, application for benefits, disability management and methods of success for each benefit.
  • Onboarding and profile setup, including mobile app.
  • Secure, simple navigation across services.
  • Initial workflows to reduce manual steps and confusion.

Additional capabilities will be added quickly after launch as part of our phased rollout.

How do I provide feedback or request new features?

We built TurboVets to evolve with veterans- not in isolation.

You’ll be able to:

  • Submit feedback directly within the platform.
  • Work with a VSO and agents to identify where things can improve, move faster, and be easier for all veterans of all ages and generations.
  • Request features or improvements.
  • Share your experience and needs with our team.
  • Share your experience and success with other veterans

We actively review all input and prioritize features based on what veterans actually need most.

How fast will new features and benefits be added?

Rapidly.

TurboVets is designed for continuous development, meaning:

  • New features will be released in regular, frequent updates.
  • Improvements will be driven by real user feedback and operational needs.
  • High-impact capabilities will be prioritized and delivered quickly.

Our goal is to ensure the platform gets better every week - not every year.

Can another company get my VA claim processed faster if I pay them?

No.

No company can expedite, fast-track, or guarantee better outcomes with the VA in exchange for payment. Claims are processed by the VA based on their own systems, rules, and priorities- not by outside vendors.

Any organization claiming they can:

  • “Speed up” your claim.
  • “Guarantee” a higher rating.
  • Or provide “special access” to the VA.

…is misleading you.

How do I know whether a company charging veterans for services is legitimate?

The VA has a strict standard:

Only VA-accredited representatives (VSOs, attorneys, or claims agents) are authorized to assist with claims.

You can verify accreditation HERE

If a company is not accredited, it:

  • Do not have recognized standing with the VA.
  • Cannot legally represent you in the claims process.
  • Are not held to VA standards or oversight.

Many states are moving to make it illegal to charge veterans for assistance with benefits.

Why do some companies charge for these services?

Some companies charge veterans for services that:

  • Are already available for free through accredited VSOs.
  • Do not actually influence VA processing timelines or outcomes.
  • Because it's a lucrative way to make money.

These services often create the appearance of added value, but in reality, they can:

  • Cost veterans unnecessary money.
  • Provide no real advantage and often even creates a disadvantage.
  • Introduce risk or misinformation.
Can using a company that charges a fee hurt my VA claim?

It can.

The VA only allows claims to be filed under the following circumstances;

  • A VA-accredited agent charging for assistance with appeals (up to 20%) is legal, provided the contract with the veteran is also on file with the VA.
  • Charging for assistance with first-time claims is technically federally illegal for anyone applying, including VA Accredited agents.:
  • Accredited Veterans Service Organizations (VSOs) and agents are prohibited from charging fees for preparing or filing initial VA claims under 38 U.S.C. § 5902 and 38 U.S.C. § 5904, reinforced by 38 CFR § 14.636. These regulations generally forbid charging fees until a notice of disagreement is filed regarding an initial decision.
  • Charging Veterans for any claims assistance that is not provided by an accredited VA Claims agent or organization is also technically federally illegal.
  • Organizations or individuals that operate without proper VA accreditation.
  • Use questionable or non-compliant practices.

The VA maintains awareness of “pay-to-play” vendors that charge for:

  • Claims applications
  • DBQs (Disability Benefits Questionnaires)
  • Exams and related services

If you use a company that falls into these categories, your claim may face:

  • Increased scrutiny
  • Additional review requirements
  • Delays in processing
Why can using a company that charges a fee hurt my claim?

The VA is responsible for ensuring claims are:

  • Accurate, without false data or statements.
  • Legitimate in the application process and the manner in which they are applied for.
  • Free from improper influence, bias, or self-serving outcomes.

When a claim is associated with certain vendors or practices, it may be flagged for closer review to ensure compliance or to identify inappropriate vendors.

What should I do?

  • Always verify if a provider is VA-accredited by going HERE.
  • Be cautious of any company charging for claims-related services.
  • Understand that paying does not improve outcomes—and can create risk.

Bottom line

Paying a company for claims help doesn’t speed things up—and in some cases, it can slow things down and reduce your overall rating.

Veterans already have access to trusted, free, and accredited support.

What is TurboVets’ position on paid attorneys and agents?

We believe veterans should not be forced to pay for access to their VA benefits.

  • We do not charge veterans for claims-related support.
  • We do not make statements about expediting VA decisions.
  • We align only with trusted, compliant, and mission-driven partners.

There are unique situations related to appeals processes of denied claims, where accredited attorneys or agents experienced in veterans' disability claims may need to be involved in helping solve difficult or complicated cases. These accredited individuals may charge a fee for their work, per the terms of a contract submitted to the VA. We understand and support this important work.

Bottom line

If someone is asking you to pay for “faster” or “better” VA results:

👉 Be cautious

👉 Verify accreditation with the VA

👉 Know that free, legitimate help already exists

Our mission is simple:

Protect veterans from paying for what they’ve already earned.

How is this different from other vendors offering claims support or from VA.gov?
  • No fees to veterans.
  • No data monetization.
  • No predatory services.
  • The ONLY  unified system across partners, states, counties, CVSOs, and VSOs.
  • The Only platform used by accredited VA agents and reps, with direct access to VA and all benefits management. Anyone who says they have it too is not being truthful.

We focus on access, transparency, and trust- not on profit for benefits veterans have already earned.

How do you sustain this long-term?

We sustain TurboVets through:

  • Strategic partnerships with major organizations.
  • Revenue from other business lines within TurboVets.

This allows us to separate revenue generation from veteran support, ensuring veterans are not charged.

Is TurboVets aligned with VSOs, states, and counties?

Yes. This is our main driver to unify the entire United States on a single platform.

Our mission is to align the ecosystem:

  • VSOs
  • State and county organizations
  • National partners
  • National Non-Profits and Veteran mission organizations that are free for Veterans.

We aim to provide a single, shared platform that improves coordination, visibility, and outcomes for veterans.

What is the long-term mission?
  • Ensure every veteran has free access to support and services
  • Eliminate confusion and fragmentation
  • Align the community together, once and for all.
  • Create a national standard platform for veteran care and benefits
