A fungal infection that may affect the lungs and cause cough, fever, and chest pain.
Medical records that document your current symptoms are central to showing which rating level applies. For a 100% rating, records showing persistent fever, documented weight loss, recurring night sweats, or episodes of massive hemoptysis directly support that level. For a 50% rating, treatment records showing that a provider has prescribed suppressive antifungal therapy on an ongoing basis, combined with notes reflecting only minimal symptoms such as occasional minor hemoptysis or productive cough, speak to that criteria. For a 30% rating, clinical notes recording occasional minor hemoptysis or productive cough without a suppressive therapy regimen are relevant. For any active rating level, imaging such as chest X-rays or CT scans showing pulmonary lesions, laboratory or culture results confirming active infection, and your own statements describing how symptoms affect your daily activities and work all help establish the picture. A 0% rating reflects records documenting that lesions are healed, inactive, and that you report no symptoms.
