§ 4.116 Schedule of ratings—gynecological conditions and disorders of the breast.

Female sexual arousal disorder (FSAD)

A condition affecting a woman's ability to become physically aroused during sexual activity.

What the rating means

Female sexual arousal disorder (FSAD) is rated under diagnostic code 7632 in VA's schedule of ratings for gynecological conditions and disorders of the breast (38 CFR § 4.116). There is only one rating level for this condition: 0%. This means that while FSAD can be service-connected and recognized as a disability, the rating schedule assigns it a 0% evaluation. A 0% rating confirms the condition is service-connected but does not by itself produce a monthly compensation payment based on that code alone. There are no higher rating levels that separate mild from severe presentations under this diagnostic code. One note in the regulation is worth knowing: natural menopause, primary amenorrhea, and pregnancy and childbirth are not considered disabilities for rating purposes, though chronic residuals of medical or surgical complications of pregnancy may be.

Evidence that helps

Because the rating schedule sets only a 0% level for FSAD, the primary evidentiary goal is establishing that the condition exists and is connected to your service, rather than documenting severity to reach a higher rating tier. Medical records from a treating provider diagnosing FSAD are the foundation. Records showing when the condition began and any link to a service-related event, injury, illness, or treatment are relevant to service connection. VA compensation and pension exam findings that confirm the diagnosis also support the record. Statements from you describing how the condition affects your daily life may help establish the diagnosis in context, even though no higher rating level turns on functional severity under this code. If your condition involves loss or loss of use of a creative organ, the regulation directs VA to also consider whether you may be entitled to special monthly compensation under 38 CFR § 3.350, so records addressing that aspect of the condition can be meaningful.

Secondary conditions

Conditions that are often caused or made worse by this one. If you have any of these, they may be claimable as secondary service connection.
