Cancer of the lymphatic system (Reed-Sternberg cell lymphoma)
During the active or treatment phase, medical records confirming a diagnosis of Hodgkin's lymphoma or documenting ongoing treatment — such as chemotherapy logs, radiation therapy records, surgical reports, or oncology visit notes — would directly support the 100 percent rating. Once treatment ends, the mandatory VA examination six months later becomes central. Records showing whether the lymphoma has returned or spread, such as imaging studies, biopsy results, and oncologist notes, are relevant at that point. If there is no recurrence or metastasis, the focus shifts to residuals. Medical evidence describing lasting effects — such as organ damage, fatigue, neuropathy, or other documented after-effects of the disease or its treatment — would support ratings under the applicable residual diagnostic codes. Statements from you or people who know you describing how any ongoing symptoms affect your work and daily activities can help show the severity of those residuals.
