Tuberculosis infection affecting the eye.
For an active rating, medical records confirming that tuberculosis of the eye is currently active are central. This includes physician notes, laboratory or culture results, pathology reports, or specialist findings that establish an ongoing, active disease process in the eye.
For an inactive rating, the evidence shifts to whatever criteria apply under § 4.88c or § 4.89. That means records documenting when and how the disease became inactive matter, along with any findings about lasting effects on your vision or the structure of your eye. Ophthalmology exam results, visual acuity measurements, and notes describing changes to eye tissue or function would all be relevant to show what residual conditions remain after the active phase has ended. Statements from you describing how any remaining symptoms affect your daily activities and work can also help show the full picture of your current impairment.
Conditions that are often caused or made worse by this one. If you have any of these, they may be claimable as secondary service connection.
