Commitment of Incompetent Alabama Veterans

Alabama probate courts
Court-arranged access to VA medical center treatment

When a veteran who is not competent to decide for themselves is eligible for treatment at a VA medical center, and commitment is in their best interest, Alabama courts can make those arrangements on the veteran’s behalf. The veteran is notified of the pending commitment and has the right to appeal the court’s decision.
