Alabama Distinctive Military and Veteran License Plates

43 distinctive plate designs, several with fee or tax exemptions

Alabama offers 43 distinctive license plates honoring service members, veterans, retired service members and eligible family members. They can go on passenger cars, trucks, motorcycles and pleasure vehicles under 12,000 pounds. Every military and veteran plate also allows disability parking access, except the Active Reserve and Alabama State Defense Force plates.

How to apply

Apply at an Alabama Department of Revenue vehicle licensing office. If the plate you want requires proof of eligibility from the state, contact your nearest ADVA veterans service office for an affidavit first.

Proof of eligibility for the specific plate, which is usually your DD214, military ID or an ADVA affidavit.
