Alabama probate judges record honorable discharges and certificates of honorable service free of charge. A recorded discharge stays confidential and can only be released to you or your attorney, your spouse or next of kin or their attorney, someone you gave power of attorney or their attorney, your administrator, executor, guardian or legal representative or their attorney, or a county veteran service officer.
Take your discharge paperwork to your county probate judge and ask to have it recorded.
