The Alabama National Guard Education Assistance Program helps pay for college if you serve in the Alabama National Guard. Awards are $6,277.00 per semester or $4,151.33 per quarter, and cover tuition and fees that your VA education benefits do not.

What you'll need

A completed FAFSA on file, proof you are in good standing in the Alabama National Guard and have finished basic training, and your school enrollment information.

Eligibility

  • You are 17 years of age or older
  • You are a service member in good standing in the Alabama National Guard
  • You have completed basic training
  • You are pursuing your first undergraduate or postgraduate degree
  • You are enrolled in a certificate or degree program at an accredited Alabama community college, technical college, college or university
  • You maintain a cumulative 2.00 GPA for undergraduate or 3.00 GPA for graduate study
  • You have a Free Application for Federal Student Aid on file
  • You can demonstrate a financial need of at least $100
