Alabama Occupational Licensure Credit and Good-Standing Hold for Military Service

Alabama occupational licensing boards
Military training counted toward licensure; license held in good standing through December 31 of the year after deployment ends

Certain Alabama occupational licensing boards may accept your military education, training or service as qualifications for a license or certification. If you hold an Alabama license and deploy, the board must leave you in good standing until at least December 31 of the first year after your deployment ends, as long as you were in good standing with your service and the board when you deployed.

Check eligibility

How to apply

Contact the Alabama licensing board for your occupation and ask them to credit your military training or to hold your license in good standing during deployment.

What you'll need

Your military training records and, for the good-standing hold, your deployment orders and proof you were in good standing when you deployed.

Eligibility

  • You are applying for an Alabama occupational license, or you hold one and have been deployed
  • If you are asking for the good-standing hold, you were in good standing with your service and the licensing board when you deployed
