Alaska Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children

Alaska Department of Education and Early Development, through the Military Interstate Children’s Compact Commission
Enrollment, placement, eligibility and graduation protections for military children

Alaska belongs to the interstate compact that smooths school transitions for military children. It speeds up enrollment when records have not arrived from the previous district, keeps differences between states in entrance age, attendance, scheduling, course content, grading and assessment from putting your child at a disadvantage, protects eligibility for educational programs and extracurricular academic, athletic and social activities, and helps your child graduate on time.
