Alaska Motorcycle Licenses for Resident Service Members Stationed Outside Alaska

Motorcycle license obtained remotely without returning to Alaska

If you are an Alaska resident service member stationed outside Alaska, you can apply for an Alaska motorcycle license online without returning to the state. You have to pass the online motorcycle knowledge test and complete a motorcycle safety course recognised by the Motorcycle Safety Foundation.

How to apply

Take the online motorcycle knowledge test, complete a Motorcycle Safety Foundation recognised course, then submit your application and documentation through the myAlaska webpage. You will be emailed an electronic invoice for the fee.

What you'll need

The completed driver license, permit or ID card transaction application, an eye examination and physician or optometrist assessment, and copies of your knowledge test and motorcycle course completion certificates.

Eligibility

  • You are an Alaska resident serving in the U.S. Armed Forces
  • You are stationed outside Alaska
  • You have passed the online motorcycle knowledge test and completed a Motorcycle Safety Foundation recognised safety course
