The Alaska National Guard pays up to 100 percent of tuition and required fees at an educational, vocational or technical school. At a University of Alaska System school you can combine federal and state tuition assistance to cover up to 100 percent of tuition and authorized fees. At an Alaska school outside the University of Alaska System you can receive up to $2,500 a year for credit producing courses, or up to $1,500 for a certificate or licensure. You can use it for no more than one credential at each level: certificate or license, associate degree, and bachelor degree.
Apply for federal tuition assistance first, then apply for state tuition assistance through your state education specialist. For help, call the Alaska Army National Guard Education Services Office at 907-428-6477.
Proof that you are satisfactorily participating in unit training activities, proof that you are a student in good standing at your school, and your federal tuition assistance application.
