If you are a State of Alaska employee serving in a reserve component, you get 16.5 days of paid military leave a year for training, field exercises, or when you are under direct military control on a search and rescue mission. If the governor calls you to active duty, you get five days of leave of absence without loss of pay. You lose no pay, time or efficiency rating for either.
Give your agency’s human resources office a copy of your military orders and request military leave.
