Arizona Military Family Relief Fund

Up to $3,000 per grant, with a $20,000 lifetime limit

The Military Family Relief Fund gives you money for basic living expenses when military service caused an unforeseen financial hardship. A grant is up to $3,000 at a time, with a $20,000 lifetime limit. It can cover things like rent, vehicle payments and utilities. It does not cover VA debts, education, child support, credit cards or legal fees.

What you'll need

Proof of your honorable discharge or current service, documentation of the deployment outside the continental U.S., proof of your Arizona connection, and documentation of the financial hardship such as bills or notices.

Eligibility

  • You are a service member or a veteran discharged under honorable conditions, or a family member of one
  • The service member was deployed away from their home station and outside the continental U.S. and its territories
  • You can show that Arizona is the service member’s home of record, or that they were an Arizona National Guard member at the time of deployment, or that they deployed from an Arizona military installation, or that you have lived in Arizona continuously for the 12 months before applying
  • You have financial hardship caused by current or past military service, or you are a family member whose hardship stems from the service member’s current military service, or you are a surviving family member of a service member or veteran who died or was wounded in the line of duty and need help with travel and living expenses
