Arkansas Veterans’ Hiring Preference for Private and Local Government Employment

Private and local government employers in Arkansas, authorized under state law
Employers may lawfully prefer veterans in hiring, promotion and retention

Arkansas law lets private and local government employers adopt a voluntary veterans preference policy. The policy has to be in writing and applied the same way to everyone for hiring, promotion and retention during a reduction in force. It can be offered to veterans, the spouse of a disabled veteran, or the surviving spouse of a veteran.
