Your Wyoming county will pay $500 toward preparing and transporting the body and $1,500 toward burial, if the veteran did not leave enough funds to cover funeral expenses.
The family or the funeral home applies to the county government where the veteran lived. This is a county payment, not a state one, so start with the county commissioners office.
Proof that the veteran served in the U.S. Armed Forces in a time of war or conflict and received a discharge other than dishonorable, such as a DD214, plus the death certificate and funeral expense records showing the estate cannot pay.
