California Resident Deployed Service Member Registration Renewal Penalty Waiver

California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)
Vehicle registration renewal penalties waived for the deployment period

If you are a California resident deployed outside California, the Department of Motor Vehicles can waive the late penalties on your vehicle registration renewal. Only penalties that build up during the deployment can be waived, and the deployment has to fall in a period when a Presidential Executive Order says the United States is engaged in combat or homeland defense. Temporary duty for training or processing and a permanent change of station do not count.
