The California Military Family Relief Fund gives short-term financial assistance grants to California National Guard members whose finances have been hurt by mobilization and deployment.

Contact your unit chain of command or the California National Guard Service Member and Family Assistance Helpline at 800-449-9662 to apply.

What you'll need

Your federal active duty orders showing 60 or more consecutive days, proof you are a California resident and a Guard member in good standing, and documentation of your income before and after activation.

Eligibility

  • You are a California National Guard service member in good standing
  • You are a California resident
  • You were called to federal active duty for 60 or more consecutive days
  • Your salary dropped by at least 10 percent, your household income dropped by at least 10 percent after going on active duty, your income dropped by at least 10 percent within six months of returning, or you were injured and discharged from federal active duty and are seeking VA disability compensation or treatment
