This waiver removes nonresident fees at any California Community College, California State University or University of California campus for eligible veterans, service members and their dependents. For a veteran it lasts as long as you live in California, up to the minimum time needed to become a resident. Graduate study is capped at two years for a service member and one year for a dependent.
Contact the admissions office at the California Community College, California State University or University of California campus you plan to attend. There is no central state application.
Your discharge paperwork or your sponsor’s current orders showing they are stationed in California, plus proof of your dependent status if you are applying as a dependent.
