Colorado Military Family Relief Fund

Colorado Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA)
One grant per deployment for lost income or emergency expenses

The Colorado Military Family Relief Fund gives grants to active and reserve component service members and their families to make up for lost income or to help with food, housing, utilities, medical services and other costs caused by military service. You can get one grant per deployment, and you must apply within six months of redeployment.

How to apply

If you are a National Guard or Reserve member, start through the contacts on the DMVA Military Family Relief Fund fact sheet. If you are on active duty, start through your installation Air Force Aid Society or Army Emergency Relief office.

What you'll need

Your mobilization or deployment orders, documentation of your lost household income or emergency expenses, and proof you are a Colorado resident for income tax purposes.

Eligibility

  • You are a Colorado resident for income tax purposes
  • You are a Colorado National Guard or Reserve member serving on mobilization orders for 30 days or more, or an active duty service member stationed in Colorado who is deployed overseas and receiving hostile fire pay or the equivalent
  • You had a loss of household income or emergency expenses during the mobilization or deployment
  • You apply within six months of redeployment
