Colorado National Guard Family Survivor College Scholarship

National Guard Association of Colorado, State Sponsored Life Insurance program
$10,000 per year per family, up to $40,000 total

If a Colorado National Guard service member enrolled in State Sponsored Life Insurance is killed in a combat zone, as a result of combat action, or as a result of foreign or domestic terrorism, their spouse and children can receive $10,000 per year per family, up to a total of $40,000, toward a college degree.

Contact the National Guard Association of Colorado State Sponsored Life Insurance office at 800-462-7441 or email info@ssli.org to start a claim.

What you'll need

The service member’s casualty documentation and death certificate, proof of your relationship to them, proof of their SSLI participation, and your school enrollment information.

Eligibility

  • You are the spouse or child of a Colorado National Guard service member who participated in State Sponsored Life Insurance
  • The service member was killed in a combat zone, as a result of combat action, or as a result of foreign or domestic terrorism
  • You are using the money toward a college degree
