Veteran and Military Identifier on Colorado Driver License and ID Cards

Veteran or military identifier with branch of service printed on your licence or ID

You can have a veteran or military identifier printed on your Colorado driver licence or ID card, and it shows your branch of service. Once it is on the card you do not have to prove eligibility again at renewal.

Apply in person at a Colorado Driver License Office; this cannot be done online.

What you'll need

One of the following: your original DD214 member copy 4, a valid military retired ID card, or a valid common access card if you are currently serving.

You are a Colorado resident
You are an honorably discharged veteran or a currently serving service member
You can show an original DD214 member copy 4, a valid military retired ID card, or a valid common access card
