When you serve on state active duty with the Minnesota National Guard the state pays you the same as a member of the U.S. Armed Forces of the same grade and length of service, and never less than $130 a day. You also get a stipend of 5 percent of your base pay for the period you are ordered to state active duty, to make up for the pension difference compared with equivalent federal service.
There is nothing separate to apply for. Your state active duty pay and stipend are processed by the Minnesota National Guard when you are ordered to state active duty; raise any shortfall with your unit pay office.
