Grants of up to $5,000 help service members and their families through financial hardship caused by military service, serious injury, illness, or the death of an eligible service member or immediate family member. The amount depends on your circumstances.

How to apply

Send a completed Connecticut Military Relief Fund application with the documentation listed on it to Connecticut Military Department, Attn: Military Relief Fund, 360 Broad Street, Room 113, Hartford, CT 06105-3706, or fax 860-493-2721.

What you'll need

The completed application, proof of the service member’s service, proof of Connecticut residency or home of record, and documentation of the hardship and how military service caused it.

Eligibility

  • You are a service member in any branch or component of the U.S. Armed Forces, or the spouse, parent or child of one, or another family member living in the same home as the service member
  • You are a current Connecticut resident, or Connecticut is the service member’s home of record
  • The service member’s military service caused or significantly contributed to the financial hardship
