You can draw temporary income if you lose your job through no fault of your own. It replaces part of your lost wages while you look for other work, is not based on financial need, and is paid for entirely by employers.

How to apply

File a claim as soon as possible after you are separated from your job, through the ReEmployCT online system. For help filing, visit a Connecticut American Job Center or call the Consumer Contact Center at 203-941-6868, 860-967-0493 or 800-956-3294, Monday to Friday 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

What you'll need

Your work and wage history for the base period, your identification, and your DD214 if you had recent military service.

Eligibility

  • You are unemployed through no fault of your own
  • You earned sufficient wages during the base period
  • You are physically and mentally able to work and available for work
  • You are actively seeking work each week, unless you are excused because you are in approved training or shared work, are in a trade union or job-attached, or are serving jury duty
