You can have a veteran flag identifier printed on your Connecticut driver’s license or state ID card as proof of military service.

How to apply

Apply through the Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs, not the DMV. Send the completed application with a copy of your DD214 to Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs, Attn: Veteran’s Flag on Connecticut Driver’s License or ID Card, 287 West Street, Rocky Hill, CT 06067, fax 860-616-3562, or email oaa.dva@ct.gov.

What you'll need

The completed application for the veteran’s flag and a copy of your DD214 showing an honorable discharge.

Eligibility

  • You served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces for 90 or more days, not counting initial entry training
  • You received an honorable discharge, or you were discharged because of service-connected injuries
