Connecticut Veteran-Owned Micro Business Price Preference for State Contracts

15 percent price preference in state contract bidding

A veteran owned small business in Connecticut gets a 15 percent price preference when the state decides which bid is lowest on a state contract. You need a Connecticut Veteran-Owned Micro Business Certification first, which requires the business to be at least 51 percent veteran owned with gross revenue no higher than $3,000,000.

Send a completed certification application with the documentation listed on it to the Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs, ATTN: Veteran-Owned Micro Business Certification, 287 West Street, Rocky Hill, CT 06067, or email oaa.dva@ct.gov. The completed certification application, your DD214 or discharge paperwork, and business ownership and revenue documentation listed on the application.

Eligibility

  • You are a veteran
  • Your business is at least 51 percent owned by one or more veterans
  • Your business has gross revenues no greater than $3,000,000
  • You hold a Connecticut Veteran-Owned Micro Business Certification
  • Your business is bidding on a Connecticut state contract
