Delaware Driver License Renewals by Mail for Active Duty Service Members and their Dependents

Eight-year renewal by mail with no late fees

If you are stationed or deployed outside Delaware you and your dependents can renew a Delaware driver licence by mail, and the renewal is good for eight years. The DMV will not charge late renewal fees if your licence expired while you were out of state.

Contact the Delaware Division of Motor Vehicles to request a renewal by mail before or after your licence expires, and include your orders showing you are stationed or deployed outside Delaware.

Your current Delaware driver licence details and your orders showing that you are stationed or deployed out of state.

Eligibility

  • You hold a Delaware driver licence
  • You are an active duty service member stationed or deployed outside Delaware, or the dependent of one
