Delaware Office of Pensions Military Service Credit

Delaware Office of Pensions
Up to five years of military service credit toward your state pension

You can add active duty military service to your Delaware state pension record in one of three ways. If you were hired before July 1, 1976, you can receive up to five years of credit. If you were already a state employee and were called to or volunteered for active duty, you receive full credit for the time served. Otherwise you can buy up to five years of credit by paying its actuarial value, though purchased credit only increases the amount of your benefit and cannot be used to qualify for a pension in the first place.
