You can claim temporary income if you lose your job through no fault of your own. It replaces part of your lost wages while you look for other work, is not based on financial need, and is paid for entirely by employers.

How to apply

File a claim on the DCNetworks website using an ID.me single sign-on account. For help, call 202-724-7000 or email does@dc.gov.

What you'll need

Your Social Security number; your most recent employer’s name, address and phone number and your dates of employment; your Alien Registration Number if you are not a U.S. citizen; your DD214 if you have prior military service; your SF8 or SF50 if you are a former federal employee; and severance and pension information if either applies.

Eligibility

  • You are unemployed through no fault of your own
  • You are able to work, available for work and actively looking for work
  • You meet the District’s wage requirements
