Florida gives service members and veterans several breaks on the concealed weapon or firearm licence: your application is processed faster, you can be issued a licence under age 21, and your military service satisfies the firearms training and competency requirement. If you hold a licence and are on orders more than 35 miles from your Florida home, your licence expiration date is extended until 180 days after you return.
Start with the Florida Concealed Weapon or Firearm Preliminary Eligibility Determination, then apply through the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services Division of Licensing.
Your DD214 or military ID as proof of service, and your orders if you are claiming the expiration extension.
