Florida licensing agencies offer several breaks on professional licences. Depending on the profession you may get an equivalent Florida licence if you hold a valid one from another state, an exemption from renewal requirements, a fee waiver, credit for military training and experience toward licensing requirements, or expedited processing. The details differ by agency.

Contact the Florida agency that licenses your profession, since the benefits vary by agency. The Department of Business and Professional Regulation military services page is the usual starting point, or call 850-487-1395.

What you'll need

Your DD214 or proof of current service, your out-of-state licence if you hold one, your military training records, and your marriage certificate or the service member’s casualty documentation if you are claiming as a spouse or surviving spouse.
