Temporary partial wage replacement

Reemployment Assistance, which Florida used to call Unemployment Compensation, gives you temporary partial income replacement if you lose your job through no fault of your own. It is paid for by employers, not by you.

How to apply

File your initial claim through the Florida Reemployment Assistance Portal, creating an account first. For help, call 833-352-7759.

What you'll need

Your Social Security number, driver license or state ID number, and for each employer over the last 18 months the name, address, phone number, first and last day of work, gross earnings before taxes, reason for separation, and Federal Employer Identification Number from a W2, 1099 or recent paystub. If they apply, also bring copies 2 or 4 of your DD214, an SF8 or SF50 for former federal employees, your Alien Registration number or work authorization, and your union name, hall number and phone number.

Eligibility

  • You are unemployed through no fault of your own
  • You meet Florida’s wage and work history requirements
  • You are able and available for work
