45 distinctive plate designs, several issued free of charge

Florida offers 45 distinctive licence plate designs honoring service members, veterans, retired service members and eligible family members. Eligibility and instructions are on the application form itself, and every military or veteran plate application needs official documentation proving you qualify. Most plates are available at your local FLHSMV motor vehicle service center, but applications for the Medal of Honor, Silver Star, Distinguished Service Cross, Navy Cross, Air Force Cross, Distinguished Flying Cross and World War II Veteran plates have to be mailed to FLHSMV.
