As a Florida public service employee serving in the National Guard or the U.S. Armed Forces Reserves, you get a leave of absence for required training and active military service, and the first 30 days of that leave are at full pay. You keep all your seniority rights, efficiency ratings, promotional status and retirement privileges while you are away.
Give your agency’s human resources office a copy of your military orders and request military leave before you go.
