Preference over non-veteran-owned businesses on tied state bids

When Florida state agencies compare two or more equal bids for commodities or contractual services, they must give preference to a Certified Veteran Business Enterprise over a business that is not veteran owned.

How to apply

Register as a new vendor on MyFloridaMarketPlace and select Veteran in the Company Information tab of your profile, then attach the required documentation. For help, email OSDHelp@dms.fl.gov or call 850-414-6122.

What you'll need

Proof that you are a Florida resident veteran, your business registration and financial records showing net worth and employee count, and a professional licence in the veteran owner’s name if your industry requires one.

Eligibility

You are a Florida resident veteran
Your business is registered to do business in Florida as a for-profit organization and is based in Florida
The business is at least 51 percent owned and managed by a veteran and is managed by Florida residents
The business is engaged in commercial transactions, has a net worth under $5 million and employs 200 or fewer full-time permanent employees
You hold a professional licence in your name if your industry requires one
