Free New Jersey License to Vend for Veterans

Local New Jersey county clerk’s office, regulated by municipalities
Vending licence fee waived in full

You can get a free New Jersey license to sell goods, wares and merchandise or to solicit trade if you are an honorably discharged veteran. You still have to register with the New Jersey Division of Taxation and collect and pay sales tax.

How to apply

Contact the county clerk’s office where you want to do business, not a state office; the licence is issued by the county clerk and regulated by municipalities. To register for sales tax, call the New Jersey Division of Taxation at 609-292-6400.

What you'll need

Your DD214 or other proof of an honorable discharge, and photo identification.

Eligibility

  • You are an honorably discharged veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces
  • You are applying to sell goods, wares or merchandise, or to solicit trade, in New Jersey
