You get a free lifetime card covering fishing, small game hunting and deer hunting if you are a New Mexico resident with a 100 percent service-connected disability rating. The deer licence is issued only if you draw a deer tag or have written permission from a landowner for a private-land deer hunt, has to be applied for each licence year, and earns no preference in public-land deer draws. Stamps are still required for any privilege the card does not cover.
Email the NMDGF Lifetime Resident Disabled Veteran Card Application with your DD214 and VA Benefit Summary Letter to vet.benefits@dvs.nm.gov, or mail them to the State Benefits Division, New Mexico Department of Veterans’ Services, 407 Galisteo Street Rm 142, Santa Fe NM 87504.
