Free Pennsylvania Fishing License for Deployed Reserve Component Service Members

You can get a free Pennsylvania fishing license after an overseas deployment if you serve in the Pennsylvania National Guard or the U.S. Armed Forces Reserve. Only one license is issued for each qualifying deployment.

Get the license from a county treasurer or a Fish and Boat Commission office, with your deployment documentation.

What you'll need

Proof you are a Pennsylvania resident and orders or other documentation showing at least 60 consecutive days deployed overseas on federal active duty within the past 24 months.

Eligibility

  • You are a Pennsylvania resident
  • You are serving in the Pennsylvania National Guard or the U.S. Armed Forces Reserve
  • You deployed overseas on federal active duty for 60 consecutive days or more within the previous 24 months, or you were released earlier because of an injury or disease you received in the line of duty
