Free South Carolina Hunting and Fishing Privileges for Disabled Resident Veterans

South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (SCDNR)
Free Disability Combination or Disability Fishing license, valid three years

If you are a South Carolina resident veteran with a VA disability rating and you are eligible for compensation, the Department of Natural Resources gives you a free Disability Combination license or Disability Fishing license, good for three years. The combination license covers freshwater fishing, freshwater set hook, saltwater fishing, state hunting, big game hunting, a Wildlife Management Area permit and a Migratory Waterfowl permit. The fishing license covers freshwater and saltwater fishing.

How to apply

Mail the SCDNR Disability Recreational Hunting and Fishing Application with your documentation to SCDNR License Office, PO Box 11710, Columbia SC 29211-1710. For help call 803-734-3833.

What you'll need

A copy of your unexpired South Carolina driver license or ID card, and a current copy of your VA disability certification dated within the last 12 months.
