Claim the credit on your Georgia income tax return for the year you were on qualifying active duty, using the total SGLI premiums you paid during that period.

What you'll need

Orders showing more than 90 consecutive days of active duty or active duty for training, and pay records showing the SGLI premiums deducted.

Eligibility

  • You are a Georgia resident National Guard member who served more than 90 consecutive days on active duty or active duty for training and paid SGLI premiums during that service
