Burial at a Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery

Georgia Department of Veterans Service
No charge for the gravesite, grave marker, vault and committal chapel

Georgia has two veterans memorial cemeteries, in Milledgeville and Glennville. There is no charge for the gravesite, a government grave marker, the vault, or use of the committal chapel. They handle casketed burials, cremated remains, and columbaria niches. Funeral home costs, the casket and preparation of the body are not covered and are paid by the veteran, the estate, or survivors.
