Honorary Tennessee High School Diplomas for Wartime Veterans

Honorary high school diploma awarded

You can be awarded an honorary Tennessee high school diploma if you left a Tennessee high school before graduating to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces during World War I, World War II, Korea or Vietnam and received an honorable discharge. You do not have to live in Tennessee now. A surviving spouse or other immediate family member can request a diploma for a veteran who has died.

Contact the county school district where the high school is, or the Tennessee Department of Education at 9th Floor Andrew Johnson Tower, 710 James Robertson Parkway, Nashville TN 37243, fax 615-253-2505.

What you'll need

Your honorable discharge papers, your name and address, the name of the high school with its city and county, and the year you would have graduated.

Eligibility

  • You left a Tennessee high school before graduating in order to serve in the U.S. Armed Forces
  • You served during World War I, World War II, Korea or Vietnam
  • You received an honorable discharge
