Honorably discharged veterans with a 100 percent service-connected disability rating can get an Idaho Disabled Veteran license plate with no initial fee and no renewal fee. It cannot be personalized, and you are limited to one set.

How to apply

Submit the Idaho Transportation Department Disabled Veteran Plates application with a copy of your VA Benefit Summary Letter to the Special Plates unit by mail or email.

What you'll need

A copy of your VA Benefit Summary Letter showing a 100 percent service-connected disability rating, and proof of your honorable discharge.

Eligibility

  • You received an honorable discharge from the U.S. Armed Forces
  • You have a 100 percent service-connected disability rating from the VA
  • You are registering a vehicle in Idaho
