Idaho Occupational License Credit for Military Training and Expedited Licensing

Military training credited toward licensing requirements, and expedited application processing

Idaho occupational and professional licensing boards may count your military education, training and experience toward the qualifications for a license, certification or registration. They may also move applications from service members, veterans and their spouses to the front of the queue.

How to apply

Contact the board that licenses your occupation, through the Idaho Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses at 208-334-3233 or dopl@dopl.idaho.gov, and ask them to credit your military training and expedite your application.

What you'll need

Your DD214, military training records, certificates and evaluations showing the education and experience you want credited, and a marriage certificate if you are applying as a spouse.

Eligibility

  • You are serving in the U.S. Armed Forces, are an honorably discharged veteran, or are the spouse of one
  • You are applying for an Idaho occupational or professional license, certification or registration
