Free lifetime day-use and camping pass, waiving the vehicle entrance fee and one campsite usage fee

Idaho resident veterans with a 100 percent total and permanent service-connected rating get a free lifetime day-use and camping pass for Idaho State Parks. It waives the motor vehicle entrance fee for one personal vehicle, which you have to be in, and the usage fee for one individual campsite. It does not cover cabins, yurts, lodges or group camping, advance reservation fees still apply, and camping is limited to 14 nights in any 30-day period.

Complete the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation Disabled Veterans application online, or mail or email it to the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation, Attn: Veteran Pass Program, PO Box 83720, Boise, ID 83720-0065, or IDPRVeteran@idpr.idaho.gov. For questions call 208-334-4199.

What you'll need

Official VA documentation of your 100 percent total and permanent service-connected rating, or your Idaho Disabled Veteran license plate number.

Eligibility

  • You are an Idaho resident veteran
  • You have a 100 percent total and permanent service-connected disability rating from the VA
  • You are present in the vehicle when the entrance fee is waived
