Idaho State Veterans Cemeteries

Idaho Division of Veterans Services (IDVS)
Burial fees paid by the VA for veterans; $1,002 for a dependent burial

Idaho runs two state veterans cemeteries, in Boise at 10100 Horseshoe Bend Road and in Blackfoot at 2651 Cromwell Lane. You can choose a columbarium niche with an inscribed granite niche cover, an in-ground garden niche with a flush granite marker, a scattering garden with a place for an inscribed marker, or a full casket in-ground burial with an upright granite marker. The cemetery can arrange military funeral honors, with an honor guard of at least two service members, the playing of Taps, and the folding and presentation of the flag to the next of kin. The VA pays the burial fees for veterans; all other funeral costs fall to you, your family or your estate. Burial of a dependent costs $1,002. Spouses and dependents qualify through the veteran, and burial of dependent children is limited to unmarried children under 21, under 23 if they are a full-time student at an approved institution, or a child who develops a lifelong disability before age 21.
