Idaho Veterans Financial Assistance

Idaho Division of Veterans Services (IDVS)
Grant of up to $1,500

In an extreme emergency the Idaho Division of Veterans Services can give you a grant of up to $1,500 to buy food, fuel, shelter and other necessities of daily living during a temporary emergency.

How to apply

Contact the Idaho Office of Veterans Advocacy at 208-780-1380 to apply. Do it within 90 days of the emergency or event.

What you'll need

Your DD214 showing at least 90 days of active duty and an honorable discharge, proof you entered the U.S. Armed Forces from Idaho or have lived in Idaho at least five years, and documentation of the emergency and the costs you need covered.

Eligibility

  • You served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces for at least 90 days, or were discharged earlier because of a service-connected disability
  • You received an honorable discharge
  • You entered the U.S. Armed Forces from Idaho, or have lived in Idaho for at least five years
  • You are in a temporary emergency and need help with food, fuel, shelter or other necessities
